This is my husband, Frankie. He is the only full time paid fireman at the Pittston Township Volunteer Fire Department. There are other paid firemen too but they are all part time. Frankie has been working there for about 30 years, not sure of the exact amount. Before that he was a volunteer fireman and he joined the fire department when he was only 20 years old. So most of his life he spent at the fire house. This is an excellent organization and they all work hard to make money for it to work. Firemen put their lives on the line whether they are putting out a house fire or responding to an accident on route 81, where the cars do not slow down or even get out of their way even when they hear the sirens and see the lights flashing. So if you see the fire trucks or ambulances coming, no matter what town you are in, please be courteous and pull over and let them pass. You never know when someone is trapped in a burning car or vehicle.
