Dessert; Chocolate, Nut Crispy Squares

Copyright by The Old School Housewife
This recipe is courtesy of Ree Drummond.  It's a really good treat for kids and adults.  In my book, it's also healthy because it has cereal in it.  I changed just a few things to make it my own.  No baking involved.  Recipe to follow.  Enjoy!

Chocolate Nut Crispy Squares
4 tblspns. butter, plus extra for greasing pan
10 oz. large marshmallows
1/8 tspn. salt
1/3 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread (I used the mocha flavor)
5 oz. semisweet chocolate morsels
6 cups rice crispy cereal
1 1/2 c. miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup walnuts (or your favorite nut), finely chopped
I also added a handful of pink and yellow colored semisweet chocolate morsels (white or peanut butter morsels would be good too)

Thoroughly grease a 9x11" pan and set aside.
Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium-low heat.  Add the marshmallows and salt and stir until melted.  Halfway through the melting process, add the chocolate-hazelnut spread and stir until smooth.
Meanwhile, melt the semisweet chocolate over a double boiler until smooth. Remove from the heat and let it cool quite a bit.
Add the cereal to a large bowl and fold in the marshmallow/chocolate mixture.  When it's almost all combined, add the mini marshmallows and continue folding until everything's combined.
Immediately press the mixture into the prepared pan.  Sprinkle with half the nuts and colored morsels and drizzle the melted chocolate in zigzags all over the top and then sprinkle the rest of the nuts and colored morsels.  Allow to set, then cut into squares.
