Above is a picture of my oldest granddaughter, Britney, on her graduation day with her my husband and myself.
You know me as the Old School Housewife and might be wondering what makes me "old school". Well, I learned a lot from my mother and in her generation, all the wives were "old school". When I was a teenager I thought differently but after I got married and had children, I realized the importance of the example that my mother left me. She loved her family and her grandchildren gave her even more pleasure. She was a good wife and a God fearing woman. I love taking care of my husband and children and the house. I even like washing clothes and hanging them on the line. I like changing the curtain on the windows, but I only like doing those things in my house.
I believe in the power of prayer and that moral values start in the home and that it's important to go to church regularly and believe in and love God.
I believe that girls should do girls things and boys should do boys things. Although, it's ok for boys to learn to cook just in case they end up living alone, they can at least cook for themselves.
I think it's great to be a 'stay at home mom'. Back in the day, it was just a normal way of life, now it has a title. I worked for 20 years as a secretary after my girls grew up. I retired early and now the most modern thing I do is this blog.
I guess there are other things that make me old school too. Like I said in the beginning, I'm just an old fashion person and I'm not afraid to admit it. I'm not telling other people how to be, this is me!
I hope you enjoy my blog. I'm honest about it and don't know how far it will go. I'm sure God will make that decision for me.
