I love gardening too.  My husband and I plant a vegetable garden and flowers all around the house.  I heard of this idea to plant your seeds in ice cream cones and then you could just plant the cone and plants right in the ground.  It sounded like a good idea so I tried it.  The first picture is day one.  By the third day, after I watered just a little, the cones gut all mushy, as you can see.  I'm not giving up on them though, I want to see if they will last till planting time.  I planted squash, green beans and carrots, so I hope it works.  I'll take more pictures as they progress to let you know if it's worth it to do.

  1. I think it's okay that they're getting "mushy" because that will make it easier for the roots to push through when you plant them in the ground. Seems like an interesting project! Good luck!
